Finally, less than a month to go to the exhibition, the track has begun to be glued down!
After having finally soldered all the frog feeds and polarity feeds last night, I started drilling out the holes in the ply for the wires to pass through. I didn't add the feed here to the track like I should've done before glueing, but I had already drilled the two holes so it shouldn't be too difficult to add later.
A test fit of the points was carried to ensure I had the holes in the correct position...
... one of them (the orange wire below) was slightly off so I needed to widen it a bit.
And once that was done and I was happy that the holes for the point motor operating rods were aligned, we could glue it down. PVA glue was applied only where there were no moving parts, and weights were applied only over the frogs (to prevent damage to the switch rails). Once this is stuck I can continue to the next set of points (of course adding the flexitrack in between).
